Compassionate Counselling & Art Therapy in Okotoks and Online Across Alberta
At Warp & Weft Counselling, I offer a grounded, creative space for you to explore what’s heavy, untangle what feels stuck, and move toward the life you want to live — with more ease, connection, and self-trust.
I work with adults navigating anxiety, grief, relationship ruptures, burnout, life transitions, or a deep sense of “something’s off.” My practice blends polyvagal-informed somatic therapy, interpersonal neurobiology, art therapy, and a humanistic, trauma-aware approach — so we can work not just with your thoughts, but with your nervous system, your relationships, and your whole being.
Whether you’re new to therapy or returning, sessions are gentle and collaborative. You don’t need to have it all figured out to begin.
Why Warp & Weft?
At Warp & Weft, we're like the warp thread in a tapestry – steady, supportive, compassionate and present. Your story, your experiences - they're the weft - adding colour and texture to the therapeutic space. As we work together, weaving through both challenges and triumphs, your narrative creates a tapestry of strength, understanding, and self-discovery.
Every moment and every detail shapes a new image in your story of healing and growth. With us, your story finds its truest expression.
About Me.
Grief shows up in so many forms. It can follow the death of someone beloved—or the loss of a relationship, a pregnancy, a sense of safety, or a version of yourself you thought would be here by now. Sometimes it looks like heartbreak. Sometimes it feels like numbness. Sometimes it doesn’t look like grief at all—just overwhelm, exhaustion, or a nervous system in survival mode.
I'm Arin Clarke (she/her), a counselling therapist and art therapist with a passion for supporting people through these quiet, complex losses. My practice is rooted in the belief that grief deserves time, creativity, and compassion—that healing is not about “getting over it,” but finding new ways to hold what hurts, honor what was, and reconnect with what’s still possible.
I was raised in the foothills of the Rocky Mountains in Alberta, and this land still grounds me. I’m a parent, a partner, and someone who knows both the ache of deep loss and the slow, surprising ways that healing can unfold. I bring my lived experience into the room gently—knowing what it means to grieve in private, to feel invisible in pain, and to long for space to just be.
Outside the therapy room, you’ll find me painting, sewing, weaving, and making art in whatever medium is calling to me. Creativity has always been my way through, and I bring that same spirit of curiosity and care into my work with clients.

I work with adults navigating:
Grief after death, especially disenfranchised losses
Breakups, divorce, and relationship transitions
Estrangement or family rupture
Perinatal loss and the identity grief of parenting
Sexual violence and the grief of lost safety or bodily autonomy
Chronic overwhelm, burnout, and identity shifts
Neurodivergent or highly sensitive nervous systems carrying complex emotional histories

Hi, I’m Arin Clarke-Visser, a Canadian Certified Counsellor (CCC), Counselling Therapist (CT) and professional art therapist (PCAT) with nearly a decade of experience.
